The National Workshop on Green Business Case Development and Teaching for Business Schools was successfully held at Jiangnan University in Wuxi from April 19 to 20, 2025. The event was co-organized by the Global Entrepreneurship Research Center at Zhejiang University, the Business School at Jiangnan University, the International “Belt and Road” Entrepreneurship Education Alliance, and the Zhejiang Society of Behavioral Science.

Professor Zhao Chuan, Associate Dean of our college, and Associate Professor Xu Zhengda, Assistant to the Dean, were invited to attend the workshop and participated in in-depth discussions with over 60 deans, academic leaders, and course coordinators in green management from 38 prestigious higher education institutions across China.

On the afternoon of April 19, 2025, the workshop officially commenced at the Business School, Jiangnan University. Professor Pu Xujin, Dean of the Business School at Jiangnan University, delivered a welcoming address. Professor Wang Chongming, Director of the Global Entrepreneurship Research Center at Zhejiang University, delivered a keynote presentation titled “Sustainable Management Models and Green Business Case Development”, providing a systematic exposition of the theoretical framework and practical pathways for green business case development.

The workshop featured four core modules, namely, Special Reports, Roundtable Forum, Experience Sharing, and Conference Summary. At the roundtable forums on “Green Business Case Development” and “Demonstration Course Construction”, Professor Zhao Chuan provided a comprehensive overview of the green management education experience accumulated by our college during the BGA International Gold Standard Certification process, as well as recent achievements in case development. The proposed “industry-education integrated case development framework” garnered significant attention and recognition from participating delegates. Associate Professor Xu Zhengda systematically analyzed the integration of sustainable development principles into MBA education, using the courses “Entrepreneurial Ability” and “Responsibility and Sustainable Management” as illustrative examples, and engaged in in-depth discussions with participating faculty members.

The workshop has established a significant platform for collaboration and exchange among business and management schools across China. Through the reciprocal enhancement of theoretical inquiry and practical experience, it has advanced an innovative pathway for green business cases—bridging principles to practice and transforming practice into case development. Our institution will continue to advance the practice of green and sustainable management education, enhance collaborative innovation across universities, and contribute strategic insights and actionable solutions to the high-quality and internationally oriented development of business education.
